Rick Holland, Senior Pastor
Rick was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He served as a youth pastor in Georgia, Michigan, and California and spent 25 years at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. While at Grace he pastored the college and singles ministry, and served as the Executive Pastor under John MacArthur. Rick has earned degrees from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga (BS), The Master's Seminary (MDiv), The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (DMin), and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (ThM, PhD). Rick has served as Senior Pastor of Immanuel Bible Church since August of 2011. He and Kim have three married sons and four grandchildren.
Aaron Johnson, Associate Pastor
Aaron was born in southern California, and lived there most of his growing up years. After graduating from college, he began vocational ministry as a music director and carried out that role for six and a half years. The Lord then gave him the opportunity to join the pastoral staff at IBC in February of 2012. He has earned degrees from The Master's University (BM), California State University Northridge (MM), and The Expositors Seminary (MDiv, 2016). He is married to Kimberly, and they have five children: Linnea, Natalie, Silas, Sophie, and Nicholas.
Ben Heimann, Associate Pastor
Ben was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to Kansas City with his wife Becky after completing his studies at the University of Missouri in 2005. While working in banking and telecom for over twenty years, he served at IBC in various capacities, most recently leading the career singles ministry and the college/young professionals ministries. Ben has served as an elder at IBC since 2009. In March of 2026, he began serving full-time at IBC as an Associate Pastor. He has earned bachelors degrees from the University of Missouri (Business Administration, International Studies, and German) as well as a Masters in Business Administration. Ben is pursuing a Masters of Divinity through The Expositors Seminary. He and Becky have four children: Emmaline, Bennett, Lydia, and Nolan.
Morgan Drent, Pastor of Student Ministries & Ascend Camp Director
Morgan was born and raised in the Kansas City area. He spent his high school years at IBC. During this time, the Lord gave him a desire for pastoral ministry. In pursuit of that, he attended Boyce College for undergraduate studies and met his wife, Ireland. After getting married, they moved to Kansas City to attend The Expositors Seminary at Immanuel Bible Church. Morgan joined the pastoral staff at IBC in 2025. He also serves as the director of Ascend Camp, an expository camp that draws high school ministries from across the country. He has earned a degree from Boyce College (BS, 2023), and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at The Expositors Seminary.
